Travel team coaches

AGSA fields competitive travel teams for girls in four age divisions (8U, 10U, 12U and 14U). Coaches are selected through an application and interview process with AGSA board members. Preference will be given to applicants who are available to coach both the spring (March-May) and summer (May-August) seasons. Applications will be accepted online only, and must include a coaching résumé (in PDF format), with three references. Click here to apply.

Coaches must provide their own transportation to practices and tournaments, and are not responsible for transportation of the team members. Contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with additional questions.

Coaches are encouraged to organize at least two contacts (practices, games) per week, using AGSA's online field scheduling tool. Batting helmets, bats, balls, catcher equipment and scorebooks will be provided by the league.

Rosters will be distributed during a coaches meeting in late March/early April; coaches are responsible for contacting their teams.

New for 2019: In order to standardize the skills and methods being taught in our program, all coaches will be expected to attend a short coaching clinic scheduled for late March/early April. In addition, Central Iowa Rec League (CIRL) will be holding a mandatory coaches meeting in early April; a representative from each team must be present for one of the scheduled dates. No exceptions.

Background checks are required for all coaches and volunteers.
