Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the three leagues sponsored by AGSA?

  • Recreational league: Open to all girls, ages 4 and up.¬†Individual player registrations; no tryouts. Teams play games throughout participating Central Iowa Recreational League communities.
  • Spring league: Open to area teams, including AGSA travel teams. No individual player registrations accepted. Games are played at the Hunziker Youth Sports Complex.
  • Fall league: Open to all girls in four age categories (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U). Individual player registrations are welcome; no tryouts. Games are played at the Hunziker Youth Sports Complex.

How do I register a player for a travel team?

Players must register for tryouts and attend two tryout dates. Participation in winter clinics is encouraged.

What days do teams play in the spring league?

  • Saturdays: 8U, 10U, 12U
  • Sundays: 14U, High School

What days do teams play in the fall league?

  • Saturdays: 8U, 10U, 12U
  • Sundays: 14U, High School

What are the age cutoffs for each level?

  • 8U - Must be 8 or younger on December 31, 2017
  • 10U - Must be 10 or younger on December 31, 2017
  • 12U - Must be 12 or younger on December 31, 2017
  • 14U - Must be 14 or younger on December 31, 2017
  • 16U - Must be 16 or younger on December 31, 2017
