Pitching Clinic - 2015

The Ames Girls Softball Association is providing free pitching clinics for recreational league players in the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade leagues. Each team is assigned a weekly 30-minute time slot to work with a pitching coach, with a limit of three pitchers per session. Pitchers must be accompanied by an adult (preferably a parent) who can work with the player outside of the clinics and team practices. Players are expected to independently work on pitching skills two to three times per week, including games. Additionally:

  1. The adult will be asked to catch.
  2. Players must show up 10 minutes before start time to warm up.
  3. Players must be approved by the pitching coach before she will be allowed to pitch in a game.
  4. Instruction is cumulative, with clinics extending into the season. After the first two clinics, new players will not be allowed to participate without approval from the AGSA director of softball operations.

Preregistration is required. The link is

Pitching and Catching Clinics

Recreational league players interested in pitching and catching are offered free clinics during the season. For player safety, girls are not permitted to pitch in a game until they have been approved by the pitching clinic coach.
